Standard education does not provide children and youth with the skills required to solve every day problems within their community. Learn Labs Makerspaces bridges this skills gap, boosts their employability and builds an entrepreneurial mindset that spurs innovation at the grassroots.
For the past year and a half, Pawan Singh has been a regular at the Makerspace lab set up by RoundGlass Foundation in Patiala’s Khera Jattan village. An arts student, Pawan was previously never inclined towards anything technical. He discovered his interest in and talent for invention at the Makerspace, where, guided by videos on YouTube, Pawan has built many products – dumbbells, bird houses, sensor dustbins, remote toy cars, and more. Pawan’s skills have made him popular in his village, and he is now often requested for help around with fixing and building things.
Pawan knows that his parents, who work as labourers, couldn’t possibly have managed to help him get the technical knowledge that he was able to access at our Makerspace and he is thankful!
