Sultanpur Lodhi: From Flood Devastation to Recovery
Sultanpur Lodhi’s Mand region is reeling from its third catastrophic flood in seven years. Over 4,500 acres of paddy fields across 14 villages are submerged, leaving families marooned and livestock stranded amid decaying crops. The Beas River’s altered course has cracked homes and forced evacuations, while breaches in embankments continue to threaten entire communities. The need is urgent — every hour lost deepens the devastation.
But that’s not all. The real crisis begins when the waters recede — families are left battling disease outbreaks, ruined schools, vanished roads, the loss of livestock and disappearance of an entire season’s crops. Without timely action, livelihoods will collapse, pushing entire communities deeper into poverty.
Roundglass Foundation is working hand in hand with the community leaders to help famers rebuild their life.
Together with local leaders, we have developed a recovery plan to support small farmers (up to 5 acres) by restoring their land with soil filling, seeds, and fertilizers.
The cost of rehabilitating one acre is $125, with which you can support farmers rehabilitate their farms so they can stand on their feet again.
Your timely support can mean the difference between despair and resilience for Sultanpur Lodhi.
